All of Sri Lanka’s international airports, including the main Bandaranaike international at Colombo, will be closed to incoming international passenger flights for one week, beginning tomorrow.

The closures will take effect from 4am on March 19 (Sri Lankan local time) until 23.59pm on March 25 (local time), though the following flights will be permitted:

Aircraft departures with passengers originating from Colombo, stop overs, transit passengers or visiting tourists

Emergency diversions to Colombo

Freighter Operations and humanitarian flights to Colombo

Technical landings at Colombo

Inbound ferry flights (without passengers) at Colombo

SriLankan airlines passengers who need assistance are asked to contact the airline’s 24-hour call centre on +94117771979, but only if they are travelling within the next 48 hours.
