Star Alliance member Air India is ready to answer the roar of the Lion City, with good business class fares between Chennai and Singapore.
The promotional ticket can be booked for departures right up until the end of February 2021, which may suit those who are wary about booking travel during the current coronavirus crisis.
With flights operated by Air India’s Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft, the non-stop Chennai-Singapore business class fare is just over INR 45,000 (return), with conveniently timed, daytime flights as well:
Air India’s 787 business class cabin consists of a total of 18 seats, spread over three rows in a 2-2-2 configuration. The seats convert into fully-flat beds.
There are a couple of cheaper options, including with oneworld member SriLankan Airlines, though you will need to change flights and make a short connection in Colombo:
Fellow oneworld member Malaysia Airlines also has reasonable fares on the route, though the outbound, overnight flight on a short-haul Boeing 737 isn’t very attractive, and you’ll need to connect in Kuala Lumpur:
