On our recent trip to Agra, we checked out the Kohinoor suite at Oberoi Amarvilas. Our stay at the property was for a couple of nights, during which we stayed at a twin bed premiere room with a balcony.
We had mixed feelings about our stay here, however, the highlight of our stay was to check out the topmost room at this Mughal-inspired property.
To get to the land of the Taj Mahal, we did a road trip from Delhi to Agra and it was quite fun driving on one of the better expressways in India at the moment.
The Kohinoor Suite at Oberoi Amarvilas
This suite is 272 sq.m in size and the best thing about it is that the Taj Mahal, which is just 600m away, doesn’t leave your sight wherever you go in the suite. There is only one suite of this kind and there’s no higher suite than this at the property.
It features a large living area, a bedroom, a study, storage room, dining area, a walk-in wardrobe, and a butler’s room along with a pantry.
The Kohinoor suite has had many famous guests like William and kate, and Jeff Bezos, from across the globe.
It has the best views that money can buy of the Taj Mahal, so it doesn’t come as a surprise that this is one of the most expensive suites in Asia at around INR 1,100,000 (USD 14,900) per night.
The large living room features a chess table along with a comfortable chair and direct access to the balcony that overlooks the Taj Mahal.
The living room has a dining room at one end and a study room at the other, and although the study doesn’t have a balcony, but the table directly faces the Taj Mahal.
The rooms are separated by privacy doors.
The bedroom looked adequately sized, while the best part of it was the bed that faces the Taj Mahal.
There is a large walk-in wardrobe behind the bed.
The bathroom is quite spacious and features a bathtub, an open shower area, and automated toilet seats.
There is a terrace attached to the bathroom which has two sun beds and parasols.
There is a butler’s room along with a pantry at the opposite end of the suite from the bedroom, and it features a single bed and a personal bathroom. There is also a separate entrance for the butler so there are no disturbances cause to the guests during their stay.
The Kohinoor suite at Oberoi Amarvilas is only available for double occupancy and there is a connecting balcony room available for extra guests.
With the best and most exclusive views of the Taj Mahal in the entire city, I would say the top most suite at Oberoi Amarvilas does justice to its price tag.
Prache, the rooms division manager at Oberoi Amarvilas, who was really warm in her approach, showed us around the suite. She also told us that the suite was booked for the following day. A newly-wed couple was going to be staying here.
I am going to soon be making a few posts on social media (including reels on Instagram) for the Kohinoor suite at Oberoi Amarvilas, follow us there to not miss out on any new posts.
