Enjoy two holidays for the price of one with these cheap business class flights to Sri Lanka and London

Today’s business class offer takes you to two great destinations for the price of one – flying business class all the way with a oneworld airline.

SriLankan Airlines’ cheap business class fares from India to the UK

The deal we want to highlight today is essentially a roundtrip business class fare from India to the UK with SriLankan Airlines. The cheapest fares we’ve found are for journeys starting in Bengaluru and Hyderabad, with prices as low as INR 116,182 (USD 1,500).

For the price, the offer holds up nicely as it is – though the long connections got us wondering what else you could do with the fare…

Make it a two-centre holiday, taking in Sri Lanka and the UK

By searching for a multi-city ticket, you can easily make a two-centre holiday, taking in two great destinations.

We’ve split the journey, so you can enjoy a week relaxing on Sri Lanka’s beautiful beaches before heading to the sights of world-famous London.

There’s barely any difference to the price, but once again the cheapest deals are to be had from Bengaluru…

…And Hyderabad.

There’s an all-A330 option from Chennai – meaning you’ll be flying a wide body plane instead of a short-haul A320 on the India to Sri Lanka leg – though the price creeps up to more than INR 140,000.

SriLankan serves a number of other Indian cities, though this deal is much more expensive if you start from Delhi or Mumbai (for example) so you’ll want to stick with Bengaluru and Hyderabad if you’re looking for the best price.

There’s good availability too, with the option to book travel until the end of May 2021.

What’s it like to fly SriLankan Airlines?

SriLankan Airlines, a member of the oneworld alliance, has a solid (though not spectacular) business class product, and we’ve had good flights with them in the past.

Chatting with SriLankan Airlines crew

The airline offers its newer A330 business class product, featuring fully-flat seats set up in 1-2-1 configuration, on the Colombo-London route, so you’re guaranteed a comfortable ride.

The staff are usually warm and friendly, and the catering is good too.

British Airways Executive Club members would earn a total of 360 tier points and at least 11,678 Avios on the Bengaluru itineraries (you would earn slightly more Avios by starting from Hyderabad).

What’s there to do in Sri Lanka and London?

Where do we start? Sri Lanka is known for its beaches and delicious seafood, so you’re well covered if you want some rest and relaxation for a few days.

Fear not if you’re looking for more to do, because this small island is home to eight Unesco World Heritage Sites, as well as national parks, ancient monuments and rainforests.

The distances are short and prices are reasonable, which will help – as the same can’t always be said for your next destination!

Spectacular scenery in Sri Lanka

Once you land in the UK, you could easily spend a week in London, exploring world-class museums (many of which are free), touring the iconic Houses of Parliament or taking a cruise on the River Thames.

If you want to head further afield, you could enjoy cute country pubs (the food is much better than it used to be!), take a trip to Wales to enjoy the beautiful scenery or hop on the train to Manchester, where you can shop til you drop or soak up the atmosphere at a football game. The possibilities are endless!

Summing up

SriLankan Airlines is offering nice business class fares for a straight-up return ticket between India and the UK.

If you want to get a little creative with the journey, however, you can take some time to enjoy the incredible island of Sri Lanka before jetting off for your adventure to London.

This could be a great option for those who are keen to start planning some travel for 2021, when we hope coronavirus will be a distant memory!

Anyone tempted by SriLankan’s cheap business class fares to London?
