Vistara launches Frankfurt route, birthday sale

  • Luke
  • January 9, 2021

Covid or no covid, Vistara needs to keep its Boeing 787 Dreamliners busy, and the Tata Group/ Singapore Airlines joint venture airline has just announced a new route to Europe.

Vistara to begin Delhi-Frankfurt flights next month

Vistara’s new, twice-a-week flights between Delhi and Frankfurt launch on February 18, 2021 and have been agreed as part of the ‘transport bubble’ formed between India and Germany. This will be the carrier’s second European route, as flights to London are already underway.

The non-stop flights to Frankfurt will be operated by Vistara’s new Boeing 787 Dreamliners and will run per the following schedule:

Subject to transit regulations, passengers can travel to the rest of Germany and EU via the new Frankfurt service.

Vistara said bookings for the flights were being ‘progressively opened on all channels’, though I didn’t get any results on a dummy booking to/ from Frankfurt when I checked the airline’s website today.

Leslie Thng, the CEO of Vistara, said:

‘As a key gateway to Germany and an ever-thriving metropolis that is a global hub of ‘a0finance, commerce and trade, Frankfurt is another significant addition to our route network that also strengthens our presence in Europe. India and Germany enjoy very strong ties, the impressions of which are visible in many areas including business, science and technology, that continue to fuel demand for travel between the two countries. Not only this, Germany is also home to hundreds of thousands of Indians and people of Indian origin.’

All-inclusive, roundtrip fares look like this:

Happy birthday, Vistara!

It seems like Vistara has plenty to celebrate at the moment. As well as spreading its wings to Europe, the airline is also marking its sixth anniversary with a 48-hour sale.

Vistara launched its operations on January 9, 2015 with just two aircraft and the same number of destinations on the map. The airline now has a total of 45 aircraft in operation, including the narrow-body A321neo featuring flat-bed seats in business class, as well as a growing route map.

Valid for travel between February 25, 2021 and September 30, 2021, the sale offers one-way economy fares starting from INR 1,299, premium economy fares from INR 2,099 and business class fares from INR 5,999.

Sale fares include the following:

The 48-hour sale started at 00.01 hrs on January 8, 2021 – meaning you need to book by 00.01 on January 10, so don’t hang around!

Summing up

Vistara’s European ambitions are gradually falling into place with the launch of a new route to ‘a0Frankfurt. London is well established by now and the carrier has already said it also has Paris in it sights.

The airline is also running a 48-hour sale to celebrate its sixth anniversary, with one-way business class tickets from INR 5,999.

Are you tempted by Vistara’s Frankfurt flights, or a sale ticket for a domestic flight?
