Whether it’s due to coronavirus, or just last-minute room dumping, some of India’s top luxury hotels are offering great rates for travel in the next few weeks.
I’ve been holding reservations (with free cancellation) at five-star hotels in Mumbai and Delhi for stays in mid-March and, with just a short time to go, decided to check the current prices.
Rates at some of my chosen hotels have fallen significantly, so I was able to cancel my original bookings and make new reservations.
For example, The Tower at the Taj Mahal Palace & Tower in Mumbai – the most famous hotel in the city – is now going for around INR 10,000 per night in March, including taxes and fees:
I have been tracking rates at The Tower for some months, and this is the cheapest I’ve seen it.
I was also able to make big savings on my bookings at The Imperial Hotel in New Delhi (another fantastic property), where I had originally paid more than INR 60,000 for my three-night stay.
For the same dates, The Imperial can now also be had for just over INR 10,000 per night:
If you can move quickly, there are some fantastic rates to be had right now at luxury hotels in India.
Anyone planning a five-star hotel stay in India?
